As an experienced data analyst and business intelligence developer, the Senior Data Analyst, Mintel Futures will play a fundamental role in gleaning new insights from data at Mintel. This individual will manage the full analytics lifecycle of analytics projects; identify new, impactful views on Mintel’s data; work alongside data scientists and business stakeholders to identify valuable insights; and aide in the design and development of a modern data analytics environment.

What You Will Do:

  • Work with team members, leadership and business stakeholders to identify, develop and communicate the value in new and innovative analytics use-cases

  • Lead and support analytical requirements gathering, both bottom up (by exploring data) and top down (by communicating with the end users / experts at Mintel) on various analytics initiatives across the business

  • Manage and contribute to the design of the analytics environment for Mintel Futures including the data mart table structures, BI dashboards and other analytical tools

  • Advocate for innovative data analysis using the latest techniques and technologies across the organization

  • Work alongside data scientists, engineers and statisticians to implement advanced analysis where appropriate

  • Advocate the value of data analysis, be an active voice for analytics and an active participant within data governance initiatives

What We Are Looking For:

  • 4+ years of professional experience as a data analyst, BI analyst or related job function

  • Experience and ability to execute across the data analytics lifecycle from requirements gathering through technical analysis to delivery

  • Excellent level SQL skills - ability to find insight in complex and/or imperfect data

  • Highly proficient in at least 1 Business Intelligence (BI) tool

  • Working knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and data warehouse design principles (what it means, why it is useful)

  • Working knowledge of at least one programming language for use with data preparation or data analytics (python, R, java) or strong desire to learn

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and oral): ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical team members

  • Team player with a collaborative nature

  • Strong work ethic with an inherent sense of ownership and responsibility
